Elisa Noguera Lopez

Untitled 1, from 'Perhaps Finally Alone'

Course: MA Photography, London College of Communication

Using elements from an imaginary household, Noguera Lopez places her subjects in the centre of the photograph, raised with small footstools as if they are resting on sculptural plinths. The heavy curtains and upholstery materials, used as a backdrop, flatten the image and accentuate the amorphous positions adopted by the sitters. People and animals conceal their identity to become still life objects.

By presenting both anonymous people and unidentified pets, the intention is to emphasize the ordinary details, textures and shapes within the photographs, and abstract the logical relationship between the human and the domesticated.
